Update - 7:27am
I think they’ve easily got four more days in them

Lots of miles to do today but fairly flat so I don’t think it’ll be like day 6. The husband of the landlady here told me to keep focused as even though the lakes and dales are hard this next bit is long and boring. I’ll heed his advice.
Anyway, despite that I’m looking forward to today. I’m at a normal campsite tonight which I normally prefer although this pub has been lovely. £2.95 a pint!!

Plodding along
I’m going really slow today but it’s pretty flat and easy going. I should be at the campsite at a reasonable time despite the long distance today. Running a bit low on food though.
The guy at the pub made me a cup of tea this morning which was kind. Set me up for the day.
I’m about half way through todays miles I think. This is more like the landscape I’m used to. Still pretty tough.

Are the moors getting nearer?

I think I’m paying the price today for walking in April. It’s a little muddy!

Remember to eat
Day 8 was pretty much walking across farmland to get to the moors. Just one last climb near the end to get to the campsite.
I really messed up with food. I didn’t have enough to eat and it caused me to be more tired and not as happy generally. You don’t realise it’s the lack of food until you look back. Lesson learned again.
It was nice to get set up and cook!
And looking back on the flat terrain of the day

Well done Ben you are doing great.those feet do look sore though bless you.keep plodding on .
Thank you Tracey
