I had just under 20 miles to cover on day 9 and I was a little concerned about getting to the pub in good time (I planned to camp in their beer garden). The morning was quite hard work but very rewarding. Lots of climbing then descending and then straight back into a climb. I was a little concerned it’d be like that all the way and I’d be late.
Fortunately after about the fifth climb of the day I just stayed high with a gentle incline so I managed to speed up. It was a totally different landscape and there wasn’t anyone else around.
I was good and stopped a few times for a rest and food so everything felt pretty good. No sign of the North Sea yet though.
Did you know that sheep have long tails. Well some do anyway. I was thinking that when I was at school and we drew a sheep it always just had a little fluffy tail. This one definitely has a long tail though.
I made it to the pub in good time. This is one of those pubs that people try to get snowed in at.
